Katie's tripple Irish chain

Yesterday, I finally fixed the boo boos in my daughter's quilt, a tripple Irish chain she made last summer. There were about 7 pieces that were coming apart because they were a tad smaller than the others. I guess she thought there was not enough fabric. They might not have come apart except that fabric was so ravelly. It was an expensive quilt shop fabric, but the loose threads! I got the quilt onto the frame and have begun quilting with a lime green poly thread on top. It looks good so far. I will post a pic soon.

  1. I just love quilting too. I follow the Amish as they are fantiastic quilters too. I can't believe they sew most by hand. I can't wait to see Katie's triple Irish chain quilt. I am sure it is just beautiful. I did not know she was into quilting as well. I will have to post some of my finished projects as well.

  2. I have some books on Amish quilts that you can look at. From what I have read, they piece the quilts with a treadle sewing machine and then hand quilt them. I don't know if it is still that way. Katie is not into quilting the way mom and I are. She just likes to make things once in a while. Maybe the quilt bug will bite her when she is older.
